Requirements
  • 8+ years of core network engineering experience
  • 5+ years of security infrastructure experience
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Knowledge of major router and switching platforms including Cisco and Dell
  • Knowledge of OSI model and network infrastructure protocols
  • Experience working in complex VMWare environments leveraging NSX-T and DVS as well as other SD protocols
  • Strong Hands-on IPv4 and IPv6 support and implementations
  • Strong hands-on experience on Fortinet, Palo Alto and pfSense network firewall platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience on MESH VPNs, Site-to-Site VPNs, Remote VPN technology
  • Strong hands-on experience of Cisco routing protocols, including BGP, and configuration
  • Experience with LAN design including IP allocations, network segmentation, and VLAN definition and implementation
  • Experience designing and managing hybrid network and security environments with a mixture of on-premise stacks integrated with deployed cloud infrastructure and applications
Responsibilities
  • Act as the subject matter expert for SimSpace network infrastructure
  • Designs, implements, and supports all enterprise network infrastructure as well as Software Defined networking within the SimSpace platforms
  • Troubleshoot all levels of network connectivity issues including, but not limited to, network outages, switch failures, network performance, network interface card (NIC), cabling, TCP/IP configuration, etc.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of a resilient, secure and scalable network
  • Ensures the resiliency of all network devices (routers, switches, wireless access points, VPN, VoIP)
  • Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking, vlans, and virtual routing and forwarding
  • Work closely with other Systems and Network Engineers and Network Operations Staff to ensure network connectivity requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all documentation on process and procedures are available and updated regularly following DT Network teams SOP
  • Plan, implement, maintain and coordinate upgrades/updates/fixes for core network operating systems and their related components, without negative impact to the overall availability and reliability of the enterprise systems/networks
  • Monitor daily systems performance and execute corrective measures environment including security event detection, triage, and threat analysis
  • Assess existing security technologies to establish opportunities for improved security controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve process and operational disciplines
  • Stays abreast of available network upgrades, reducing the potential for technical debt
  • Technical leadership with fulfilling various requests, including maintenance tasks and business projects
  • Must be located near or willing to travel to the data center in Boston 2-3 times a week, or as needed, to oversee and support critical network infrastructure and ensure seamless operations
