Requirements
  • A Bachelor Degree or Associate Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Five to seven years of experience in information technology, including three to five years in cybersecurity.
  • At least two years of experience applying the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Center for Internet Security frameworks, or MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Experience in a lead or mentoring role.
  • Ability to work between 7 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday, with work at any time on any day of the week when business needs require it.
  • Ability to travel 5-10%.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the cybersecurity team, managing the queue of security alerts, operational tickets, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure consistent monitoring, triage, and resolution of security events across all environments.
  • Manage team schedules, on-call rotations, and shift hand-offs to ensure uninterrupted operational coverage.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and unblock team members during daily operations.
  • Drive implementation and continuous tuning, optimization, and maturity of security tools, including identity and access management, identity governance and administration, privileged access management, security information and event management, endpoint detection and response, intrusion detection and prevention systems, email gateways, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks through security orchestration, automation, and response implementation and scripting.
  • Validate that all security tools are healthy, fully deployed, and effectively communicating with logging and monitoring systems.
  • Direct tactical incident response efforts through preparation, detection and analysis, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident activity.
  • Execute the tactical components of the cybersecurity strategy and roadmap by breaking down high-level goals into actionable day-to-day projects for the team.
  • Identify, evaluate, and remediate active vulnerabilities and threats that could affect operational and business activities.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving team problems.
  • Mentor team members through guidance, cross-training, and professional development plans.
  • Create and maintain documentation for daily operations, including standard operating procedures and incident response playbooks.
  • Provide operational metrics and reporting, including mean time to detect and respond, alert volumes, and tool health, to the Cybersecurity Manager.
  • Act as an operational advisor to service desk support, networking, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure business technology operations.
  • Serve as a business liaison to departments and lines of business on cybersecurity topics.
  • Stay current on threat landscapes, tools, and methodologies to keep the team's operational tactics effective.
  • Research, attend conferences and vendor learning events, and pursue training to improve knowledge of tools, trends, technologies, strategies, and methodologies in security-related domains.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
