Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Health/Long-Term Administration, Business, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
  • A current Licensed Nursing Home Administrator license in Michigan is required.
  • At least two years of Long-Term Care Administrator experience is required.
  • The candidate must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly, and/or emotionally upset.
  • The candidate must help employees and residents through organizational changes by communicating effectively and building excitement and a positive environment.
  • The candidate must understand federal, state, and local regulations and proactively respond to changes in compliance issues and deadlines.
  • The candidate must demonstrate literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • The Administrator reports to and partners with the Executive Director to lead the delivery of high-quality services in a person-centered environment.
  • The Administrator oversees departments related to resident care and services, including Activities, Hospice, Medical Records, Nursing, Social Services, Laundry, and Housekeeping.
  • The Administrator is responsible for Privacy and Quality Assurance throughout the community.
  • The Administrator serves as a member of the Leadership Team.
  • The Administrator participates in master planning for the community.
  • The Administrator selects, supervises, coaches, develops, and retains staff.
  • The Administrator builds a dynamic team environment that reflects the organization's mission through employee actions and services.
  • The Administrator manages, leads, and facilitates the Quality Assurance process and quarterly meetings.
  • The Administrator develops, monitors, and reports statistical information and quality indicators used to evaluate operations and develop quality-improvement plans.
  • The Administrator ensures operations comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
  • The Administrator provides leadership in observing residents' rights.
  • The Administrator participates in corporate teams to share best practices and work assignments related to corporate operations.
  • The Administrator represents the organization in the community.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is a plus.
