Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assist as required with sorting room operation.
  • Cross train in all sorting room functions under the guidance of the Sorting Room Supervisor.
  • Assist in cleaning and general maintenance of the sorting room area.
  • Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
  • Perform baling as needed.
  • Support the work therapy program component by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct, work habits, and supervision as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Administrator.
  • Process and sort donations by inspecting and separating saleable from unsaleable items.
  • Deliver a minimum of 300 store-quality garments per hour.
  • Categorize and box seasonal clothing, bric, and shoes.
  • Process, hang, and tag all sorted merchandise.
  • Deliver a minimum of 225 hung garments per hour.
  • Ensure clothes are hung according to policy and on proper hangers.
  • Ensure tags are properly placed on garments according to policy.
  • Process and price all sorted merchandise.
  • Deliver a minimum of 225 priced garments per hour.
  • Consider quality, name brand, and condition when determining garment prices.
  • Sort and clean all saleable miscellaneous merchandise donations daily.
  • Ticket all merchandise and assign an individual fair-market price for each item.
  • Place and maintain all merchandise in the required order and manner.
  • Rag out merchandise in accordance with the Territorial Adult Rehabilitation Center Rag Out Calendar.
  • Sort and clean all saleable shoes, handbags, and accessory donations daily.
  • Process a minimum of 25 shoe, handbag, and accessory pieces or sets per hour while maintaining merchandise in the required order and manner.
  • Sort and measure all saleable linen items daily as required.
  • Process a minimum of 25 linen pieces or sets per hour while maintaining merchandise in the required order and manner.
  • Sort and clean all saleable books, records, toys, and other merchandise daily as required.
  • Sort, clean, and test electrical and furniture donations as required.
  • Ticket electrical merchandise using sold-as-is tickets and assign an individual fair-market price for each item.
  • Complete furniture tickets, record required information, and assign a fair-market price for each furniture item.
  • Place and maintain electrical and furniture merchandise in the required order and manner.
  • Mark down furniture items on the sales floor in accordance with policy.
