Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) is looking for a dynamic and innovative Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including managing financial reporting & GAAP compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with robust analytical skills and the ability to effectively lead a high-performing team. The Accounting Manager will also act as a strategic business partner, providing financial insights and guidance to support the company’s operational initiatives & goals.
Prepare, review and analyze management reporting, financial statements and footnotes
Provide thought leadership in regard to properly accounting for transactions and new accounting pronouncements
Prepare and review monthly closing entries and account reconciliations
Partner with operations leadership to analyze the financial impact of operational initiatives
Coordinate and assist with the external audit process
Contribute to the development of reporting tools using platforms such as PowerBI
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
Provide development opportunities to a high-performing team of associates
CPA required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s a plus)
Minimum six years of professional accounting experience; public accounting a plus
Minimum three years of people leadership experience
Well-developed technical accounting skills, understanding of GAAP, and ability to research technical accounting matters
Strategic thinker with exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to be flexible/adaptable, work in a dynamic, complex environment, and meet deadlines within given time frames with multiple competing priorities
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments
Must possess exemplary organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking, and be comfortable presenting to members of management
Effective team player with stronginitiative and work ethic
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required
Ability to work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of three days a week in person in the office
