Staff Technologist
Key Role:
Lead model development within the decision analytics capability, including a focus on mathematical programming. Analyze data to identify trends and support the development of mission analyses using techniques, including econometrics regression analysis, cluster analysis, Bayesian analysis, discriminant analysis, sentiment analysis, support vector machines, survival analysis, and other modes of machine. Work with a variety of software platforms to build and apply mathematical and statistical models that address multi-dimensional issues that have technical, operational, and organizational implications. Contribute to the development of new concepts and experiments, translate these ideas into executable action plans, and communicate these plans to a diverse client base. Devise modeling and measuring techniques and use mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, including linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, and stochastic modeling and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work within cross-functional teams to engage the client, comprehend the client’s problems, develop strategic analytical products, support requirements analysis, including process and systems analyses, support the development of business and system architectures, and define actionable system requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with quantitative analysis and qualitative interpretation of data
Experience with data science, modeling, machine learning, data mining, or statistics
Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm for data and comprehend the nuances of complex data models
Ability to self-motivate
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in a client-focused, business-facing role
Experience with working in strategy or management consulting
Experience in R, Python, SAS, Tableau, Excel, and other data visualization tools and programming languages
Experience with data discovery and visualization
Ability to engage and collaborate with peers, leadership, and cross functional teams
Ability to be articulate, persuasive, and enthusiastic with a knack for good storytelling
Possession of excellent client relationship skills
Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
