Work as a Project Consultant as part of our Structural Engineering Division under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer. Provide structural engineering services with an emphasis on new design, repair and rehabilitation of constructed works, and investigation and performance evaluation of a variety of structures and materials.
What You’ll Do:
Essential duties include the following tasks:
- Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
- During the design phase of projects:
- Perform structural calculations
- Develop appropriate concepts, layouts, and details
- Plan and conduct site investigations to document existing conditions
- Prepare specification documents
- Oversee Revit model development and drawing production
- Attend meetings with clients and design team members to coordinate and solve design challenges
- During the construction administration phase of projects:
- Assist project managers and senior-level engineers with tasks including reviewing submittals (shop drawings), responding to RFIs, visiting project sites, and writing field reports.
- Prepare reports documenting construction progress
- May serve as the primary point of contact for clients, design team members, and contractors
- Lead a team of engineers, drafters, and modelers in BIM model development to ensure high-quality drawing production for projects
- Assist with developing project engineering budgets
- Mentor younger staff members
What You’ll Need:
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Two years of experience in structural analysis and design of materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame structures. Stated experience must include:
- (1) communicating with internal and external clients;
- (2) using detailed analysis to solve complex problems
- Candidates subject to a technical engineering quiz during the interview process where they must demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply structural engineering principals to solve problems.
Eligible to telecommute 3 day/week from a home office within normal commuting distance of Los Angeles, CA
Must be willing to periodically travel to in-state and out-of-state project sites.
Anticipated annual base salary: $89,010 - $125,000/year. This is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the CA Pay Transparency Law.
