  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an environmental, health and safety program. Certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to work in an agile R&D environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of teaming for a strong safety culture.
  • Ability to work in an environment with inside ambient temperatures reaching 100+ degrees.
  • Ability to work within a manufacturing setting and tolerate oil, grease, dust, and occasional fumes.
  • Ability to work with a highly collaborative team.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Prioritizes and ensures safety of oneself and others.
  • Ability to proactively collect, manage, and transfer knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Kairos Power environmental programs.
  • Team with other EHS professionals to collaborate with cross-functional teams, management, and external agencies to ensure alignment with environmental goals.
  • Directly engage employees by walking the floor in an effort to understand workflow and processes. Wear PPE as required.
  • Engage local regulators to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and permits.
  • Develops, reviews, and conducts EHS-related training.
  • Stay current with all environmental regulations, inspections and standards, and ensure the organization's adherence to all applicable laws.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, permits (air, water), and documentation as required.
  • Conduct internal and external audits and inspections to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for hazardous material management, including waste disposal, recycling, and handling.
  • Partner and manage relationships with vendors to assist with the responsible disposal of waste.
  • Assist in Investigation of all incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Support all other functions under of EHS and be a backup other team members.
  • Be a first responder and part of Emergency Response Team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
