Requirements
- BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in a QA, System Engineering, or similar role focused on Enterprise-grade controller-managed or cloud-managed WLAN products
- Experience in advanced WLAN troubleshooting
- Experience with Telecom/Data Networking (L2 and L3) as it relates to WLAN infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Customer Wireless LAN deployments, Topologies and how customer use WLAN products
- Experience with network security, SD-WAN, VPN technologies a plus
- Excellent knowledge and hands-on work experience in the following areas:
- Testing all aspects of Enterprise Wireless LAN solution - 802.11 protocols, APs, Clients, Radio, Auth, CWP, Roaming, Policy, Controllers and Cloud
- Security concepts and protocols such as AAA framework - Authentication, Authorization, Accounting, 802.1X, Captive portal, VPN etc
- Network Security and Management features - SNMP, Net-login, AAA, IP sec and GRE tunneling, Firewalls, SSL, SNMP MIB
- Networking protocols such as VLAN, IP, STP, TCP, UDP, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, SPBM etc
- Installation and configuration of DHCP, DNS, SSH, RADIUS, LDAP, IPsec, CA
- Scripting using Java, Python, Perl, Shell, or TCL/TK
- Installation and management of Virtual Machines and Hypervisor (ESX, Hyper-V) and proficiency in Linux OS
- Traffic Generators (Ixia/Spirent) and network tracing tools like Wireshark, Ethereal or TCPDUMP
- Good Analytical and Communication Skills
- Be self-driven and able to work in a collaborative team setting
Responsibilities
- The SR QA Engineer will be part of a specialized engineering team partnering with other functions to help build and validate Wireless LAN, SD-WAN and Cloud products and solutions for high-end customer deployments. The engineer will engage on reactive and proactive projects. Reactive situations will involve customer-specific scenario analysis, lab replication of customer environment, issue triage, fix validation, regression testing and MOP development. Automation of repetitive test cases will be expected. Proactive validation will focus on developing lab-validated adoption/migration strategies and procedures to aid customer base with new products and solution deployment. Assist in developing and executing test strategies and test plans. Work with engineering in identifying, reproducing, and resolving product defects. Projects may be structured as solo assignments or team-based collaborations. The role will provide an exciting mix of high-impact, high-visibility challenging and rewarding assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure is a plus
- Prior Experience with Mesh based Wireless LAN or other Extreme Networks Wireless Products is a plus
- Cloud Practitioner, Network+, CWNA and CCNA (Wireless) certifications are a plus
