Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals and beverages according to established menus, recipes, and daily production schedules.
  • Ensure meals are visually appealing, flavorful, and served on time according to posted meal schedules.
  • Prepare foods accurately for modified and therapeutic diets, consulting with the Dietary Manager as needed.
  • Follow appropriate food handling, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures during preparation, service, and storage.
  • Monitor and document refrigeration and dish machine temperatures according to established schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, dining room, dish room, freezer, and storage areas.
  • Label, date, and store food items properly.
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines and minimize food waste.
  • Assist patients during meal service by supporting nutritionally balanced food selections.
  • Promote positive working relationships with patients, coworkers, and facility staff.
  • Assist with dishwashing and other departmental duties assigned by the Cook or Dietary Manager.
  • Ensure cleanliness and readiness of all food preparation and dining areas throughout the day.
