Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, specifically Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in permitting and licensing within the energy, petroleum, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of local, regional, and international regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience liaising with government agencies and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage processes for obtaining and maintaining permits and licenses required for company operations.
  • Lead, manage, and implement a structured compliance program for establishments engaged in petroleum product activities across Abu Dhabi.
  • Drive permit regularization efforts, follow up with companies, resolve compliance barriers, and increase the number of establishments obtaining required permits within defined timelines and sector objectives.
  • Identify and manage permitting and licensing requirements across various jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, renewal documents, and supporting materials.
  • Coordinate with government agencies and regulatory bodies to facilitate approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and operational regulations related to permits and licenses.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits and licenses, including expiration dates and renewal processes.
  • Advise internal teams on legal requirements and regulatory changes affecting permits and licensing.
  • Support permitting and licensing audit activities.
  • Develop strategies to expedite permits and mitigate risks associated with regulatory non-compliance.
  • Plan and manage the compliance program, conduct permit regularization and company follow-up, perform compliance reviews and corrective actions, coordinate escalations, report and monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement and awareness.
