About the role
Familiarity with documentation platforms, markdown, and HTML, as well as some experience with programming is needed to get the job done. Knowledge of databases, SQL, object storage, and data analysis is helpful to grasp your users’ roles and responsibilities. This paid internship will span 12 weeks in Summer 2023.
Core responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers.
- Plan, create, and update technical documentation.
- Edit, clarify, and enhance the content experience.
- Learn and explain new technologies and technical concepts to others.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recent graduate of a degree, program, or bootcamp in technical writing with a focus on IT and high technology environments, human-computer interaction, computer science, or related technical or scientific field.
- A GitHub or similar account with activity that clearly demonstrates your familiarity with coding and coding workflows in a programming language.
- A portfolio or website that demonstrates how you use content to support a technical audience through clear, concise writing if this content is not available in your GitHub account.
- Familiarity with one or more documentation platforms.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- Strong editing skills, and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently in a remote capacity, as well as within a team environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with Markdown or RestructuredText.
- Knowledge of databases, SQL, object storage, and data analysis.
- Ability to read source code written in Java.
- Experience with HTML and CSS.
