Overview: Acquire, analyze and report on client data and information. Will collaborate with other team members, such as Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, etc. to aid in gathering, interpreting and reporting pertinent information to the client.
Contractor Requisition: 9 month contract
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong hands-on experience working as Data Engineer writing complex queries, data transformation utilizing MS-SQL Server
- Write SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions etc
- Experience working in Azure Cloud environment
- Understand data pipeline, data warehousing, data structure concepts;
- Dive deep into data to uncover trends, data quality, and data completeness;
- Hands-on experience in data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau etc.
- Support the development and implementation of data marts, data structures, functions, data warehouse fact & dimension tables, views, and indexes;
- Create and maintain views into data sets to provide visualization of data analysis;
- Take data analysis and insights capability to the next level; work with data infrastructure to ensure that data is accessible, audit existing visualization dashboards, and work with stakeholders to recommend and create new reporting/insights;
- Identify data trends and make recommendations for quality improvement;
- Worked in Agile Methodology utilizing tools like ADO (Azure DevOps), Rally, Jira and understand various agile ceremonies
- Work with stakeholders and clients to identify Business Intelligence needs and work towards actionable data and insights;
- In collaboration with project/program leadership, define key insights and metrics which the business needs to address, and develop appropriate datasets, analytics, dashboards, or methods;
- Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
- Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
- Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years related experience;
- Possess advanced SQL skills;
- Possess healthcare experience including industry trends, terminology, and typical processes;
- Understand how business decisions are evaluated across operations, finance, risk, and people practices. Applies this understanding to identify opportunities for improved decision making;
- Data Engineer and Analyst having strong SQL queries on SQL Server Database (Stored procedures, functions, SSIS etc)
- Data Mapping (Source to destination), Data Testing, data quality & trends
- Data visualization experience (like PowerBI) etc
- Agile Methodology experience
- Possess advanced business acumen and working knowledge of typical company operations;
- Through analysis, is skilled at providing the relevant information people need in order to succeed in their roles, formulate accurate decisions and take appropriate action;
- Proven track record of solving complex problems;
- Experience in data visualizations/BI tools – Looker / Tableau is preferred;
- Strong knowledge of statistics and ability to translate this into non-technical terms;
- Demonstrated success in building trusted relationships with internal/external clients and customers;
- Passion for the use of data and business intelligence principles and their ability to optimize business outcomes;
- Demonstrated ability to handle large data sets and relational databases;
- Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal, and visual), and analytical skills.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in technology or statistics required; and
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technology or statistical related field preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
- Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
- Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
- Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
