Requirements
  • Chartered Accountant and/or Certified Public Accountant (USA), or a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards with a university degree in Commerce.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within Accounts.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and Indian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; exposure to United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis; PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Extensive understanding of the Income Tax Act, Goods and Services Tax, Companies Act 2013, Foreign Exchange Management Act, and other statutory and legal requirements.
  • Experience in payable or operational accounting functions.
  • Experience working with or supporting United States-based companies is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes and internal controls.
  • Experience with Workday Financials, preferably the Accounts Payable and Procurement modules.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume transaction environments efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of cost center accounting and operational expense management.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare the month-end financial close process, ensuring that all revenue and expenses are properly recorded and that balance sheet and bank reconciliations are complete across multiple entities.
  • Prepare the company’s general ledger and sub-ledger accounts, including preparing and posting journal entries for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany adjustments.
  • Prepare financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax requirements, including monthly and annual sales tax filings.
  • Assist with the year-end financial statement audit in collaboration with external auditors and with any statutory audits that may arise.
  • Assist the company Director in preparing reporting materials for the Board of Directors.
  • Lead the team and conduct performance reviews.
  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including high-volume invoice processing and settlement runs.
  • Oversee supplier onboarding, maintenance, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to two-way and three-way matching processes involving purchase orders, receipts, and invoices, as well as procurement policies.
  • Assist the Procurement partner in optimizing requisition and purchase order workflows within Workday.
  • Drive improvements in the procure-to-pay process to enhance efficiency and automation.
  • Oversee accurate coding of invoices, cost centers, and project allocations.
  • Support operational and project costing accuracy in coordination with Corporate Accounting and Project teams.
  • Monitor Accounts Payable aging, payment timing, and working capital impact.
  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and maintain strong internal controls within Accounts Payable and procurement workflows.
  • Support month-end close activities related to Accounts Payable, including accruals and liability reconciliations.
  • Track Accounts Payable performance indicators, including cycle time, backlog, and error rates, and drive accountability.
  • Prepare and assist Accounts Payable and operations accounting staff, ensuring high-quality review and oversight.
