Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) offers a four-year MD program that integrates traditional medical education with the arts, humanities, and principles of whole health. The program emphasizes the importance of self-care for students, enabling them to prioritize their own well-being alongside that of their patients. AWSOM is currently building a modern medical education facility in Bentonville, Arkansas, located on the Crystal Bridges campus, which also houses the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Heartland Whole Health Institute. The school has received preliminary accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and will welcome its first class of 48 students in July 2025. AWSOM stands out from other medical schools by focusing on a holistic approach to medical training, blending medical knowledge with an appreciation for the arts and humanities.
