Derq builds an AI platform that improves road safety and traffic efficiency by connecting to existing road infrastructure such as cameras, sensors, and signal controllers. Its products are Derq INSIGHT, which analyzes sensor data to identify safety hotspots and forecast potential collisions, and Derq SENSE, an edge-computing solution that provides real-time analytics for V2X, CAV support, and adaptive traffic control. It is hardware-agnostic and designed to work with current infrastructure using computer vision and sensor fusion to model the behavior of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The company serves cities and transportation agencies and partners with ITS firms to reduce crashes, optimize traffic flow, and help communities prepare for autonomous transportation.

Derq, an intelligent transportation company, has unveiled the next generation of its INSIGHT real-time analytics platform at Intertraffic 2026 in Amsterdam. The updated system uses agentic AI to help traffic agencies shift from reactive analysis to proactive decision-making in road safety. The MIT spinoff, founded in 2016, has analysed millions of near-misses and thousands of crashes across deployments in the US, Canada and the GCC region. New capabilities include interactive AI agents for data interpretation, automated incident detection for hazards like debris and low visibility, enhanced near-miss analysis with root cause insights, and a recommendation engine for safety countermeasures. Detroit has used INSIGHT for five years to monitor safety trends and guide corridor improvements. New features will roll out to customers from Q2 2026.

ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The global leader for end-to-end traffic management and transportation technology, Umovity, and industry leading AI Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) provider, Derq, today announced their collaboration and first joint solution at ITS America Conference Expo in Phoenix, AZ. By linking Derq’s INSIGHT, the company’s automated safety performance monitoring application with Econolite’s industry-leading cloud-based Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS), Centracs® Mobility, the two companies deliver a strong traffic management solution which utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to increase safety for all road users. The award-winning AI-powered platform developed by MIT-spinoff Derq ingests and fuses data from connected traffic cameras and sensors and runs real-time analytics to enable continuous and actionable safety and traffic insights. Derq’s automated safety performance metrics, derived on live identification of safety events and road user behaviors such as crashes, near-misses or pedestrian and cyclist compliance issues, are translated into safety scores. Derq’s solutions have been deployed in 25 agencies across the U.S. Its intuitive map interface is flexible and configurable allowing multiple visual cues for situational awareness of the transportation operation
