Asian stocks trade up to 50% below fair value based on cash flow analysis

Laopu Gold, a jewellery manufacturer operating in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, is trading at HK$586, approximately 34.4% below its estimated fair value of HK$893.89 based on discounted cash flow analysis. The company reported earnings growth exceeding 230% last year. However, its 4.7% dividend yield is not well covered by free cash flows, raising sustainability concerns. The company generates CN¥27.30 billion in revenue from its jewellery and watches segment, with a market capitalisation of HK$103.57 billion. Foxconn Industrial Internet, which provides smart manufacturing and industrial internet services across Mexico, Vietnam, Singapore and mainland China, has a market capitalisation of CN¥1.27 trillion. The article did not provide specific valuation details for Foxconn.

Chinese firms hit record overseas revenue on AI demand and EV expansion

Chinese companies reached record overseas revenue in 2025, led by PetroChina, Foxconn Industrial Internet, BYD and Luxshare Precision Industry. PetroChina's overseas crude output rose 1.8% to nearly 168 million barrels, whilst FII reported 56% of revenue from mainland factories and over one-third from its Mexico plant. FII's growth was driven by demand for AI servers. BYD expanded abroad as domestic competition intensified, with 2025 net profit falling 19% year-on-year, though overseas markets reportedly offer higher margins above 28%. Chinese manufacturers are increasingly establishing local factories in Hungary, Brazil and Thailand to navigate trade barriers. However, this strategy brings new risks: BYD was added to Brazil's "dirty list" over alleged labour violations at a factory construction project, potentially limiting financing access.

Foxconn Industrial profit misses estimates despite AI boom, earnings reach $1.6B

Foxconn Industrial Internet's net income more than doubled to a record 10.6 billion yuan ($1.6 billion), but fell short of analyst expectations of 12.4 billion yuan. The company benefited less than anticipated from China's artificial intelligence boom, according to a Tuesday filing. The results suggest the AI-driven growth in China's industrial sector may not be translating into profits as strongly as investors had hoped for the manufacturing giant.
