Responsibilities

The Associate Business Development Manager (ABDM) is responsible for prospecting, qualifying and closing new brokerage accounts for Ryan Transportation. The ABDM position is our entry level exclusive sales position that will transition over time to a true Business Development manager. The Associate Business Development Manager must be able to perform the following tasks, among others:

• Close and convert new brokerage accounts for new business expansion
• Execute all sales activities inside of CRM.  This includes lead handling, sales call tracking, opportunity updates, and overall pipeline management and updating 
• Work with other BDs, Trainers and Senior Leadership to further your sales behaviors, acumen, education, and techniques
• Become an industry expert in regard to all important segments of logistics
• Develop positive internal relationships with key stakeholders
• Contribute sales mentorship and guidance to assigned new Account Managers
• Drive pricing strategy and solution for customers
• Manage internal process of on-boarding a customer, including contract negotiation, customer setup, and AM training on the specific account
• Provide competitive intelligence and customer needs to help company further develop sales strategy
• Travel as required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ideal candidates must possess an outgoing, dynamic personality along with strong attention to detail and an ability to work independently.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or two years relevant sales experience
• Demonstrated ability to bring on new customers and expand existing relationships
• Experience with sales processes, including CRM
• Be a team player that looks to help others as well as themselves to grow the business
• Ability to work consistently from 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience in the transportation Industry a plus
