Requirements
  • A responsible driving record and a clean driver's abstract.
  • A valid Class B licence or willingness to obtain one through licence upgrade training.
  • A clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at approximately B2 to C1 level.
  • Solid knowledge of London and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and work independently while managing time effectively.
  • Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Experience in student transportation.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Availability Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., willingness to work outside regular business hours when required, and weekend on-call availability.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate staff to ensure drivers meet Student Transportation standards and contract requirements.
  • Maintain coverage during staff absences, vacations, and high-demand periods.
  • Conduct site visits, monitor performance, review incident and collision reports, and provide coaching or follow-up as needed.
  • Support driver development through onboarding, training, ride-alongs, performance feedback, and safety meetings.
  • Facilitate employee engagement and team meetings and maintain strong relationships with the team.
  • Cover school runs when required to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager and Talent Acquisition Specialist to support high-volume staffing for the new division.
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, and licensing processes for new drivers.
  • Help implement start-up processes, including route assignments, schedules, and operational workflows.
  • Maintain operational standards during launch and ensure efficient hand-offs between teams.
  • Support bus maintenance and cleaning to ensure a safe, presentable fleet.
  • Coordinate with Health and Safety teams to schedule and track required training.
  • Oversee incident documentation, ghosting reports, and deficiency reports and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor employee licences and certifications from start to finish to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Track and report key performance indicators to the Operations Manager and assist with performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate timesheets, payroll inputs, and operational records.
  • Ensure schedules are maintained and coverage is provided at all times.
  • Serve as the main operational contact for HR, maintenance, and Health and Safety support teams.
  • Be available for divisional emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
  • Support operations during high-pressure scenarios to ensure uninterrupted service.
