- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A current and valid driver's license is required.
- Strong knowledge of dermatologic terminology and procedures is required.
- Proficiency using electronic medical record systems such as EMA, Epic, or similar is required.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- Greet and prepare patients for dermatological examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints.
- Assist dermatologists with clinical procedures including skin examinations, biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and cosmetic treatments.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including cleanliness and supply stocking.
- Perform wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes as directed.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and general dermatological health.
- Manage patient records and handle prior authorizations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Support front desk operations as needed, including answering phones and verifying insurance.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant, such as CMA, RMA, or equivalent, is strongly preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a dermatology or medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.
- A compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and staff is preferred.
