- Two years of experience is required.
- One year of Epic charting experience is required.
- An active South Carolina license is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certifications are required.
- A flu vaccine is required with no exemptions.
- Three years of specialty experience is required for first-time travelers.
- Travelers must complete an electrocardiogram examination.
- Travelers must have some urology and vascular experience.
- Travelers need medical-surgical/telemetry competency.
- Required clinical skills include intravenous therapy and phlebotomy, gastrointestinal care, heparin protocols, medical-surgical/telemetry and respiratory work settings, genitourinary/renal care, and continuous bladder irrigation.
- The traveler will care for five to six medical-surgical patients and must perform dressing changes and care for patients with wound vacuums and drains.
- The traveler must float as needed.
- The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with every-other-weekend requirements that may vary based on need.
- Administer treatments.
- Interpret telemetry data.
- Coordinate patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote patient recovery and safety.
- Use Vendor Neutral Summary Notes.
- Neuro experience is preferred but not required.
- Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
- Preferred clinical skills include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central-line care and management, peripheral-line care and management, peripherally inserted central catheter line management, starting and maintaining intravenous lines, feeding-tube care and management, patient-controlled analgesia, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, wound care and wound vacuums, nasal cannulas, oxygen tanks, pre- and post-hemodialysis management, and renal failure care.
