Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, design and conduct experiments, and continue research projects following protocols including the accurate and thorough recording of data and reporting of results. Assist in other laboratory and research functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Under moderate supervision, design and perform experiments and assays and collect data
• Understand and follow experimental protocols (including tissue culture)
• Record, compile, interpret, and communicate data/results
• Follow University safety protocols (may include use of combustibles, radioactivity, toxic material, and/or carcinogens)
• Perform calculations involving molarity, % solutions, and serial dilutions
• Prepare, operate and troubleshoot research instruments in experimental procedures
• Read and follow all equipment manuals
• Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer and University guidelines
• Maintain inventories

• Perform laboratory cleaning and stocking duties and other assigned maintenance tasks
• Maintain sterile conditions as required
• Accurately prepare solutions
• Demonstrate an understanding of acceptable procedures and techniques
• Recognize problems and suggest solutions
• Assist in modifications as directed
• Provide appropriate written documentation of experiments and presentations of results
• Prepare preliminary research progress reports
