Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • At least 7 years of schematic and printed circuit board design experience is required.
  • Expert-level Altium Designer experience, including vault- or workspace-based library management, is required; equivalent Cadence Allegro, Mentor Xpedition, Zuken CR-8000, or OrCAD experience is considered when library governance ownership and transition to Altium are realistic.
  • Demonstrated high-speed, high-density layout experience on consumer or automotive electronics is required.
  • Knowledge of component packaging, IPC footprint standards, datasheet interpretation, and automotive-grade component qualification is required.
  • Exposure to a product lifecycle management or bill of materials environment such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, Agile PLM, or Arena is required, along with comfort releasing hardware through a formal change process.
  • Hands-on laboratory skills for scoping, board bring-up, and root-cause analysis on independently designed hardware are required.
Responsibilities
  • Own schematic capture and printed circuit board layout in Altium for display driver boards, interface boards, and infotainment hardware.
  • Design highly integrated, space-constrained multilayer boards with attention to signal integrity, high-speed differential routing for LVDS, MIPI, and eDP, power integrity, and thermal relief.
  • Execute electromagnetic compatibility- and electrostatic discharge-conscious layouts, including grounding strategy, shielding, and filtering.
  • Support low-voltage power architecture and integration into the vehicle's zonal electrical architecture.
  • Build, govern, and maintain the Altium component library, including symbols, footprints, three-dimensional models, parametric data, naming conventions, IPC-compliant footprint rules, and a review and approval workflow for new parts.
  • Drive part selection and qualification against AEC-Q100, AEC-Q101, and AEC-Q200 grades, temperature range, lifecycle and end-of-life risk, and package suitability for the vehicle environment; own second sourcing and obsolescence risk.
  • Link library and design data to the bill of materials and requirements environment so that schematic components match purchasable parts.
  • Partner with mechanical engineering on board outline, connector placement, mounting, and enclosure fit under packaging targets.
  • Run design reviews, work through design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test feedback with electronics manufacturing services partners, and support prototype board bring-up, debugging, and validation.
  • Generate and maintain fabrication and assembly documentation and release hardware through the formal change process.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with CISPR 25, ISO 11452, and ISO 10605 is a plus.
