- At least 8 years of experience with industrial electrical and instrumentation estimating.
- Experience with competitive bids up to $20 million in petrochemical, gas processing, refining, and other heavy industrial facilities.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques.
- Ability to conceptualize estimates without complete information.
- Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
- Knowledge of estimating software programs.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prepare and take ownership of cost estimates for bids and project proposals, identifying risks and opportunities and maintaining a winning strategy.
- Prepare detailed estimates from scopes of work, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation, including quantity take-offs and determinations of manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Solicit quotes from material and equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and specified manufacturers.
- Distribute and maintain control of bid documents.
- Establish construction schedules.
- Identify special requirements for weather protection, cranes, hoists, temporary facilities and services, and other indirect project costs.
- Ensure that all bid forms are completed and properly executed.
- Review labor costs and applicable licensing requirements.
- Schedule and conduct bid review meetings with the Division Manager, Estimating Manager, and/or business line management to finalize bids, markups, and bid strategies.
- Coordinate with other employees during the bid process on large proposals.
- Electrical and instrumentation field experience is highly preferred.
- Professional, ethical, and willing to grow with the company.
