Where You Fit 

We are searching for a Pathologist to join our Memphis-based medical practice (Poplar Healthcare PLLC).  This person will be responsible for evaluating specimens and applying proper principles and practices in diagnostic services. The ideal candidate will possess superior diagnostic ability, excellent communication skills, and a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with subspecialty and general surgical pathologists.

What You’ll Do

50% of your role will be dedicated to GI Diagnostic Pathology

• Write pathology reports
• Provide communication with referring physicians and other clients regarding clinical, medical, technical, and service matters
• Ensure promptness and accuracy of service
• Attend and present cases or academic presentations at meetings as necessary
• Review consultation cases from external physicians
• Provide support for development of digital pathology products and services, along with collaboration on clinical research
• Provide general support for other areas of the laboratory
• Interactions with sales and marketing, and with billing team
• Other duties and responsibilities as directed by management including but not limited to Quality Assurance

50% of your role will be dedicated to Biopharma Clinical Trial Support 

• Provide support for the Biopharma laboratory including training and performing competency assessments of support staff
• Verify controls and troubleshooting support
• Participate in validation of assays and instrumentation
• Score stains such as PD-L1, FOLR1, ER, PR, HER2/neu and others as necessary
• Participate in algorithm model development activities

What You Bring 

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• Subspecialty Fellowship training is desired
• Must hold or be able to obtain a valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in TN and have the ability to obtain other state licenses as needed
• Strong understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability to read digital pathology desired
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task in a dynamic environment
• Must have a positive customer service attitude and be a team player
