Requirements
  • An associate degree, bachelor's degree, or demonstrated equivalent technical training is required.
  • At least six years of experience in engineering, architecture, project administration, procurement, and construction projects is required.
  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, with some knowledge of PowerPoint and Adobe.
  • Knowledge of project-controls concepts and principles, including cost and schedule tracking, earned value, productivity, risk analysis, progress measurement, and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of project documentation and construction-administration terminology, including shop drawings, requests for information, architect's supplemental instructions, requests for proposals, record drawings, change orders, pay requests, and punch lists.
  • Ability to review expenditures for coding accuracy, update commitment logs, gather actual-cost information, and support procurement and change-order processes.
  • Ability to meet job-specific procedures and quality standards and apply safety policies and procedures.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for project-controls functions on projects and proposals, including planning, cost and schedule metrics, performance-data collection, daily cost monitoring, earned-value, productivity and risk analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist the Project Manager with tracking project-scope changes and potential changes and estimating cost changes and schedule impacts.
  • Integrate cost and schedule data and reporting with accounting and management information systems.
  • Support change-control management, document-control management, and critical-path-method network analysis.
  • Work with assigned Project Managers and project teams to satisfy project-controls requirements.
  • Review project contractual requirements and follow through to ensure compliance.
  • Receive and distribute project correspondence and serve as the client contact when the Project Manager is unavailable.
  • Prepare and maintain the assigned Project Manager's project book and manage the retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of technical data and correspondence.
  • Assist Project Managers with budgets, project plans, meeting minutes, AIA contracts, reports, proposals, responses to review comments, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate and distribute design submittals, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, design analyses, and reports; notify team members of quality and submittal requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare project requisitions and purchase-order requests for sub-consultants.
  • Set up and maintain project-team and project-center administration in Newforma.
  • Prepare quality-control reports for design submittals, assemble quality-control documentation, and prepare materials for archival.
  • Set up and maintain project schedules for assigned Project Manager projects.
  • Schedule and coordinate team meetings and site visits, attend meetings, and record minutes when required.
  • Handle construction-administration requirements, including revisions, architect's supplemental instructions, proposal requests, change orders, pay requests, requests for information, shop drawings, and punch lists.
  • Set up and maintain project logs, including revision, architect's supplemental instruction, and supplemental sketch logs.
  • Handle bid-phase administration by preparing bid-document and addendum-release logs, attending bid openings when required, and releasing and returning plan-deposit checks to bidders according to bid-document instructions.
