Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in accounting, fundraising, or operations OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
Responsibilities
  • Oversees cash management and reconciliation processes performed by other staff accountants.
  • Manages relationships with Emory financial partners to include the Controller's Office, University's banking institution, school and unit business and advancement offices, and vendors to ensure the integrity of the data and financial information and customer expectations are met.
  • Collaborates with various departments to develop and enhance technology plans and strategies for continuous improvement in workflow, process efficiencies, and best practices.
  • Provides technical support, guidance and direction for the development, implementation and maintenance of complex operational projects.
  • Supports senior management with budgeting and resource planning.
  • Produces monthly financial reports to management.
  • Hires, manages, develops, and motivates a team of professional staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Successful candidates will possess experience managing budgets and financial reports, working with various technologies including digital imaging, advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, fundraising and donor relations software, database and project management software, and CRM systems.
  • High proficiency in ten-key data entry (number pad).
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to navigate a complex work environment.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Familiarity with University, IRS, and CASE standards regarding charitable giving and reporting.
  • Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
