Requirements
  • Must be a licensed Vocational Nurse in good standing with a valid license from the State of California.
  • Must clear a criminal background check with the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
  • Must hold a valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Basic Life Support card.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must meet all local health regulations and pass a post-employment physical examination if required.
  • Must be able to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
  • Must possess the physical, sensory, communication, and emotional abilities necessary to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents and to instruct nursing services personnel.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medication, dressing wounds, checking vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including progress notes, care plans, and medication administration records.
  • Communicate with patients, family members, and healthcare team members to ensure appropriate care and treatment.
  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed staff members to ensure they provide appropriate care.
  • Comply with state and federal nursing-practice regulations, including infection control protocols, medication management, and patient rights.
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
  • Monitor patients for signs of deterioration and intervene as needed to prevent falls, injuries, and other adverse events, including emergency disasters.
Desired Qualifications
  • Charge Nurse or supervisory experience is preferred.
