Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with MS Excel and Access
  • Must have working knowledge of student information systems, with experience in SCT’s BANNER desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to interact with all members of a team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Some experience in Web Design or related activities is required to update content of Financial Aid Web Site.
  • Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
Responsibilities
  • Assists in the processing and maintenance of student’s financial aid applications at the School of Medicine.
  • Responsible for assisting the Associate Dean for Financial Aid with the implementation of all policies and procedures governing institutional financial aid programs.
  • Responsible for helping ensure compliance with Title IV and Title VII regulations, other federal regulations as they apply to student financial aid programs and institutional policies in the administration.
  • Maintains an up-to-date understanding of state, federal and institutional legal, fiscal and statutory regulations pertaining to financial aid and assures compliance for the School of Medicine.
  • Assists in the completion of reports for federal and state agencies, annual audits and/or program reviews.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for financial aid questions from applicants and admitted students.
  • Leads financial aid presentations during admissions events and presentation days, and provides one-on-one guidance to help prospective students understand the cost of attendance, loan options, and available financial resources at the School of Medicine.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to Two years experience working in Admissions and/or Financial Aid
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • High comfort level working with data
  • Excellent communication and organization skills – written and verbal- attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work on deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA
