Requirements
  • Deep expertise in C# architecture and patterns, including dependency injection, service composition, and testable boundaries around legacy code.

  • Ability to run old and new implementations in parallel, gradually shift traffic, and roll back when needed.
  • Ability to lead discussions on architecture, database design, and framework choices while articulating trade-offs and risk.
  • Ability to improve developers through code review, pair programming, and teaching frameworks, patterns, and business-domain concepts.
  • Ability to establish practices for testing, database changes, code review, and incident response across teams.
  • Ability to identify root causes of team friction and propose systemic improvements.
  • Ability to explain technical constraints and risks to product, business, and leadership in business terms.
  • Ability to quantify problems such as defect rate, change frequency, and support burden before proposing solutions.
  • Ability to balance correctness with shipping and determine when to iterate versus when to get it right initially.
  • Ability to take responsibility for team outcomes and propose improvements independently.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and active listening.
Responsibilities
  • Own team-level projects or major features, including architecture, delivery strategy, team coordination, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead technical standards for database changes, code review, testing, logging, and incident response across multiple modules.
  • Guide architectural decisions that balance immediate delivery with long-term maintainability, deployment risk, and team capability.
  • Lead production incidents involving financial, inventory, or shipping data by determining root cause, safe recovery, and preventive actions.
  • Design incremental modernization strategies for complex legacy systems, prioritizing high-impact, bounded improvements over full rewrites.
  • Establish database governance covering change standards, schema compatibility, multi-customer testing, and safe migration procedures.
  • Mentor and train developers in SQL Server, transaction design, prioritization, risk assessment, and incident response.
  • Conduct code reviews of changes to critical systems, focusing on business correctness, transaction safety, concurrency, and testability.
  • Diagnose systemic issues such as frequent defects, slow deployments, and onboarding challenges, and propose solutions that improve team effectiveness.
  • Communicate with product, quality assurance, customer success, and business leadership to understand priorities and constraints.
  • Embed artificial intelligence across the development lifecycle for code generation, testing, documentation, refactoring, and knowledge transfer.
  • Design validation steps appropriate to task criticality and ensure artificial-intelligence-generated work meets team standards before shipping.
  • Teach developers at all levels how to use artificial intelligence effectively and when to rely on human judgment.
  • Establish team-wide standards for artificial intelligence usage, including review requirements for generated code.
  • Evaluate artificial-intelligence tools such as Claude and Copilot and recommend adoption based on team needs and security constraints.
  • Identify opportunities for artificial intelligence to improve developer productivity without sacrificing quality or security.
  • Design team-wide artificial-intelligence workflows for onboarding developers on complex legacy modules.
  • Establish code-review standards that include validation requirements for artificial-intelligence-generated code.
  • Use Claude to generate documentation, test plans, and architectural diagrams subject to team validation.
  • Mentor peers and team members on effective artificial-intelligence usage and appropriate reliance on human judgment.
  • Propose artificial-intelligence-assisted approaches to slow tests, documentation gaps, and refactoring burdens.
  • Set team policies and guidelines for data safety, secrets, and appropriate artificial-intelligence tool usage.
  • Contribute to hiring and culture-building by interviewing candidates and providing technical feedback.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building or leading large production systems serving millions of transactions or thousands of concurrent users.
  • Deep familiarity with an enterprise resource planning system, financial platform, or high-volume transaction-processing system.
  • Production incident-response experience and familiarity with post-mortems and blameless investigations.
  • Experience designing multi-tenant or multi-customer deployments with schema and configuration variation.
  • Experience leading database migrations on large production tables and understanding zero-downtime deployment strategies.
  • Experience mentoring multiple junior and mid-level engineers with demonstrated impact on their growth and career progression.
  • Experience setting or improving engineering practices including code review, testing, deployment, and incident response.
  • Speaking, writing, or community contributions demonstrating communication of technical concepts.

Amtech Software provides an end-to-end platform that connects estimating, planning, and plant-floor execution for corrugated, folding carton, flexible packaging, and label manufacturers. The system unifies estimation, scheduling, and on-floor work in a single workflow, using AI-augmented tools and cloud-ready infrastructure to turn shop-floor data into better plans and outcomes. It differentiates itself by being built specifically for packaging converters with decades of vertical expertise, combining AI features and cloud data handling in one platform rather than generic manufacturing software. Its goal is to make plant data predictable and profitable by aligning quotes, plans, and production on one connected system.

Amtech launches suite to help corrugated manufacturers manage hand assembly and contract packaging

Amtech Software has launched a new suite to help corrugated manufacturers manage hand assembly and fulfillment operations. The solution addresses rising margin pressure from containerboard costs by enabling manufacturers to offer higher-margin services like contract packaging and assembled products. The suite includes two capability levels: EnCore Assembled Products for kits and displays, and EnCore Contract Packaging for complex operations including component tracking and customer-supplied materials. It also features hand assembly scheduling in Amtech's Advanced Planning Board, allowing teams to manage converting and assembly work together. The platform replaces siloed spreadsheets and point solutions, providing unified management of product structures, inventory and scheduling. Amtech, founded over 40 years ago, serves over 1,250 plants worldwide with ERP and manufacturing software for the packaging industry.
