Requirements
  • Minimum of 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED
  • Certified Fire 1 and 2
  • EMR or EMT certified
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Hazmat Operations
  • Pass an NFPA 1582 physical examination
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
  • Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email
  • Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and appearance
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high-pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands
  • Possess above-average written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with client staff and the public
  • Industrial firefighter experience (preferred)
  • Hazardous Materials Technician (preferred)
  • NIMS Training 100, 200, 700, 800 (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow the Emergency Action and Communication Plans and all Standard Operating Procedures for emergencies.
  • Completes incident reports as required.
  • Responds to all fire/medical/security/hazmat/threat situations according to Emergency Response Plan and Standardized Operating Procedures and Medical Director Protocols.
  • Performs routine daily/weekly/monthly inspections on fire alarm/fire suppression/and security equipment.
  • Physically inspect all fire suppression systems, including but not limited to: Sprinkler System; Manual and Automatic Alarm initiating devices; Fire Panels; Standpipe Hoses
  • Perform daily inspections on apparatus, security vehicles, and emergency response equipment.
  • Patrol facilities for fire or building code violations and additional safety hazards; report to supervisor.
  • Act as a weather spotter and monitor weather alerts through Sky Guard or other notification systems.
  • Approve and inspect all hot works and high-hazard hot works, confined space permits.
  • Participates in daily training on emergency response to maintain readiness.
  • Maintains compliance with personal Fire/Medical/Hazmat certifications as required by local mandate.
  • Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications, and performing in a high-pressure environment.
