- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and programmable logic controller-related issues on production equipment.
- Calibrate sensors, vision systems, actuators, and other automation components to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering to assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning of new machinery.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, ladder logic, and equipment manuals.
- Use diagnostic tools and software, including programmable logic controller programming interfaces and human-machine interfaces, to resolve control system faults.
- Document maintenance actions and machine modifications in the computerized maintenance management system.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts for automation equipment performance.
- Perform automation repairs that are typically complex and require a high degree of skill and thorough knowledge of automation practices and techniques.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
- Work in compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration and National Fire Protection Association standards.
- May require overtime.
