Protegrity is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer — PhD Required

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly qualified Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. A PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is a strict requirement for this role. Candidates without a PhD will not be considered.

Location: Menlo Park, CA (In-office, Mon–Thu)

This role is ideal for PhD graduates in technical, mathematics focused fields (Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Biology) transitioning from academia to industry.

You’ll join our GenAI team to secure AI infrastructure and develop agentic security solutions for enterprise-scale deployments.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement GenAI systems using agentic coding IDEs (e.g., GitHub Co-Pilot)

• Design and run experiments; analyze and present results.

• Conduct literature reviews and deep dives on agentic AI research.

• Fine-tune LLMs and embedding models.

• Apply traditional ML algorithms to large datasets.

• Process legal, compliance, and user documentation datasets.

• Contribute to roadmap planning and product evolution.

Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a mathematics-heavy technical field etc.)

• 3–5 years Python experience.

• Strong foundation in ML algorithms and metrics.

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow.

• Familiarity with data security (encryption, masking, tokenization.)

• Curiosity and drive to become a GenAI expert.
