Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in a product management, sales engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or another relevant area.
  • In-depth knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems, components, and their functionality is required.
  • Experience or formal training on the installation and service of residential and/or commercial HVAC equipment or mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to convey complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects and manage detailed timelines with superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with product, engineering and sales teams in both a pre-sales consultation and post-sale implantation capacity.
  • Strong industry knowledge, keeping current with industry trends, competitor products and market dynamics.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, proposals and reports for customers.
  • Experience reviewing and commenting on technical documentation including blueprints, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings or similar.
Responsibilities
  • Support the ecobee professional channel sales team with comprehensive product knowledge and ability to consult with customers about the compatibility and implementation requirements for ecobee products.
  • Support end customers, contractors and distribution partners through post sales-implementation of ecobee products and services.
  • Leverage expertise in HVAC systems and controls to deliver tailored solutions win opportunities effectively.
  • Support the ongoing development of our contractor and sales team training programs, partnering with a cross functional groups including sales, marketing, product, engineering and customer service.
  • Lead continuous learning process - ongoing technical education of the ecobee sales and customer service teams.
  • Ownership of the product performance incident process – conduct detailed investigations, analyze data, work with engineering teams and effectively communicate technical insights to customers and internal stakeholders to drive continuous product improvement.
  • Analyze and report on customer product returns through analysis of issue patterns, translating data into actionable insight to improve product quality, customer satisfaction and inform future sales strategies.
  • Develop expertise with ecobee SmartBuilding thermostat management service, bring technical sales expertise to hardware + software sales process and identify new market opportunities and feature improvements.
  • Research and report on new market and channel opportunities supporting organization growth initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with hardware, product, marketing and sales teams to identify opportunities to enhance or improve our products, enabling ecobee to reach new customers and grow market share.
  • Develop product and service strategies that enhance ecobee partnership with manufactures of furnaces, ducted AC, ductless, heat pump, fan coil, VRF and emerging technologies.
  • Program management of hardware/software integrations with strategic partners and equipment manufactures.
  • Develop market assessment of HVAC technologies identifying portfolio gaps and opportunities.
