Your New Role and Team
Our Simulation team is looking to hire a Technical Artist. Reporting to the Simulation Team Lead, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of our platform’s design, architecture, and machine learning models, used to power our general-purpose robots.
The ideal candidate for this position enjoys active participation in the development process and possesses the technical know-how to bring a creative vision to reality. You will get a chance to work with engineers and research scientists throughout the development cycle, from gathering requirements, recording and modeling new environments, to ensuring all assets work within the scope of the technical pipeline. If you are passionate about keeping up with the latest tools and methodologies for producing materials, shaders, rendering, and establishing workflows, you will get a chance to work closely with the team lead to shape the strategy and direction of our world asset pipeline.

- Bring hands-on experience to ensure the utmost technical quality of assets through production
- Gain cutting edge platform experience as you create tools and scripts to assist research scientists and engineers with content, lighting, and shading matters
- Expand your career experience as you design and implement elegant data-driven content creation pipelines
- Achieve company-wide visibility as you partner closely with engineers to inject/troubleshoot various assets utilized by our world engine
Your Experience
Qualifications
- Between 3-5+ years of experience in the visual effects industry as a technical artist, technical lead, or generalist
- Strong technical expertise in modeling, texturing & rigging
- Working experience in animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing
- Bachelor’s degree in art, design, mathematics, engineering, computer science or equivalent
Skills
- Experience with Unreal 4/5, Unity, or similar 3d game engines
- Experience creating and optimizing materials and shaders
- Knowledge of art creation pipelines, asset exporting, and process automation software
- Experience using Blender or similar tools
- Knowledge of Python, Java, or C++ and familiarity with SDLC
- Experience with production management software such as JIRA
