VP, Business Intelligence & Analytics
Job summary:
As a direct report to our Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Business Intelligence & Analytics, will lead indirectly and directly a team responsible for data optimization, visualization and insights to support data-driven decision-making across our organization. Your role will involve leveraging advanced analytics to influence operational strategies, unify disparate data sources, and help develop an analytically minded operational environment. This newly-created position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in analytics leadership, technical expertise, and agility, to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Let’s talk job responsibilities:
• Develop and lead a team of analysts to provide robust insights that support decisions that drive meaningful improvements in business strategy and results.
• Utilize analysis to influence operational decision-making across the organization.
• Design and develop dynamic dashboards and scorecards for real-time decision-making.
• Strategically place analysts that best partner with others to enable data-driven decision-making across businesses and functions, and at the intersections thereof.
• Foster an analytically minded operational environment within the organization.
• Collaborate and partner with other leaders to improve data definitions and standards, unify disparate data sources, and create standardized data sourcing – from an authoritative, accurate and centralized warehouse.
• Utilize quantitative skills in statistics, modeling, and research to address business challenges.
• Partner with decision makers to select and manage best in class tools and vendor relationships to support organization goals, including self-service.
Your experience and skills:
• 7+ years of experience in highly analytic roles, including 3+ years of leadership experience in a comparable organization (e.g., rapid growth through acquisitions).
• Understanding of P&L drivers; demonstrated ability to organize and use big data and analysis to influence operational decision-making to drive better business results.
• Expertise in relevant technologies and applications such as SQL, R, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Proven track record of hiring, developing and retaining high-performing analysts.
• Alignment with the organization’s values of integrity, service, family, respect, and partnership.
• Ability to work onsite in Downtown Dallas and travel (~10%), as needed.
• Working knowledge of vendor selection, contract negotiation, and system
implementation/adoption.
• Advanced degrees in mathematics, data science, information systems, statistics, or related fields are a plus.
