Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in industrial sewing, assembly, or a comparable manufacturing environment.
  • At least two years of experience using a material requirements planning or enterprise resource planning system for production planning, material management, or operational reporting.
  • Working knowledge of production scheduling, inventory control, quality requirements, manufacturing processes, and workplace safety.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong communication, conflict-resolution, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze production challenges, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective action.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and support a diverse team of production employees.
  • Translate production priorities into clear work assignments and expectations.
  • Develop schedules that accommodate changing workloads and maximize available resources.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Recognize strong performance and identify opportunities for employee development.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflict fairly, professionally, and promptly.
  • Reinforce company policies and partner with Human Resources and Plant Management when corrective action is needed.
  • Monitor daily production activity and adjust staffing, materials, and priorities as needs change.
  • Coordinate workflow across departments to ensure clear communication regarding orders and schedules.
  • Expedite rush orders, samples, shortages, and other critical customer requirements.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other partners to resolve operational issues.
  • Remove barriers that could affect product flow, productivity, or on-time delivery.
  • Use production data and sound judgment to make timely, informed decisions.
  • Review product specifications and ensure materials and finished products meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Monitor production metrics to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Support 5S activities and other continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Help identify root causes and coordinate practical, sustainable corrective actions.
  • Encourage employees to contribute ideas and take ownership of process improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and respectful work environment.
  • Consistently enforce safety requirements, company policies, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Encourage employees to actively participate in creating a strong safety culture.
  • Support compliance with applicable environmental, safety, and workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, including timecards, training documentation, production reports, and performance reviews.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage, and material availability to support production needs.
  • Help minimize inventory errors, shortages, waste, and unnecessary costs.
  • Prepare reports related to production performance, inventory usage, and order status.
  • Use material requirements planning or enterprise resource planning systems and other software tools to monitor production, manage materials, and communicate changes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in automotive, transportation, commercial-vehicle, heavy-equipment, foam, or furniture manufacturing.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 requirements.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or a comparable workflow-management tool.
  • Forklift experience or certification.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
