Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, termination, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cabling and connectivity solutions.
  • Perform fiber certification testing using optical time-domain reflectometers, power meters, and other testing equipment.
  • Support new network deployments, upgrades, relocations, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct inspections of fiber infrastructure and identify potential performance or service issues.
  • Troubleshoot physical layer connectivity problems and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Read and interpret network diagrams, fiber route drawings, splice schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Document test results, service activities, project updates, and asset information accurately.
  • Assist in maintaining fiber records, labeling standards, and network documentation.
  • Support customer site installations and provide basic technical assistance during deployment activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and field operations teams to complete projects on schedule.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance activities or on-call support as required.
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leaders while developing technical proficiency in fiber optic infrastructure and telecommunications services.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Fiber optic certifications such as FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician, BICSI Technician Certification, or ETA Fiber Optics Installer Certification are preferred.
  • Experience with fiber splicing and termination methods is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data center cabling environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications construction and outside plant infrastructure is preferred.
  • Exposure to network technologies and connectivity troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Understanding of fiber optic installation and maintenance best practices is preferred.

IES Holdings subsidiary acquires Broadwind Texas facility for $19.5M

IES Holdings subsidiary IES Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Broadwind Heavy Fabrications' production facility in Abilene, Texas, for up to $19.5 million. The deal includes real property, equipment, machinery and related assets, with consideration comprising cash and non-cash value tied to a below-market lease arrangement. Approximately 140 employees involved in wind tower manufacturing are expected to transfer to IES Infrastructure after the lease term ends. The transaction was announced on 5 May 2026, following a definitive agreement signed on 30 April. IES Holdings reported second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $4.16, up from $3.30 year-on-year, with revenue rising to $974.2 million from $834 million. The company maintains a backlog of approximately $3.9 billion, driven by strong demand in data centres and communications infrastructure.

IES director sells $3.8M in shares following 157% stock surge

IES Holdings director Todd Cleveland sold 7,500 shares of common stock valued at approximately $3.8 million across two transactions between 24 February and 4 March 2026, according to SEC filings. The sales represented about 8.9% of his direct holdings at the start of the period. The sale occurred following a 157% one-year total return in IESC stock and continues a multi-year pattern of position reduction. Cleveland's remaining direct holdings now stand at roughly half their April 2023 level, valued at approximately $34.1 million based on the 20 March closing price of $436.95. The 7,500-share sale was smaller than Cleveland's roughly 10,000-share median for previous open-market sales since April 2023.
