  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, specifically Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Computer Science, or Data Science.
  • Minimum 3.3 GPA.
  • No more than two years of continuous work experience after graduation.
  • Willingness to make a two-year commitment to the program.
  • Commitment to participate in program activities.
  • Immediate authorization to work in the United States on a permanent or indefinitely renewable basis without Pfizer sponsorship.
  • Submission of an original personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing adversity in a STEM journey or support for people from different groups, including the challenge, approach, impact, growth, perspective, or collaboration implications.

Responsibilities
  • Complete four six-month job rotations across diverse Research and Development disciplines over the two-year program.
  • Gain experience and insight into drug discovery and development through assignments and projects with scientists, clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, and other professionals.
  • Complete at least two laboratory rotations based on skills and expertise.
  • Perform meaningful assignments and projects while developing business acumen and technical expertise.
  • Contribute to activities spanning early research, mid- to late-stage clinical development and operations, regulatory planning, and business support.
  • Participate in assay development and analysis to discover new targets and pathways in disease areas.
  • Contribute to organic, analytical, and medicinal chemistry activities.
  • Work on single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to characterize gene expression in human and animal disease tissue.
  • Contribute to mid- to late-stage clinical trial design and execution.
  • Work on artificial intelligence, computational biology, and digital medicine projects.
  • Support clinical development operations, including project planning, regulatory operations, and data analytics.
  • Partner with project teams working from early drug discovery through late-stage clinical trial work.
  • Participate in program activities, mentorship, coaching, and collaborative interactions.

Medicus Pharma secures Pfizer ADC deal with $2M funding, advances SkinJect for rare cancer treatment

Medicus Pharma has secured a development and licensing agreement with Pfizer for a CD228-targeted antibody-drug conjugate programme focused on solid tumours, including refractory melanoma. Pfizer is providing approximately $2 million in development funding, plus inventory and infrastructure support. CEO Dr Raza Bokhari said the deal allows Medicus to continue from where Pfizer concluded its Phase 1 dose-escalation work, strengthening the company's position in precision oncology. Medicus is also advancing its SkinJect programme for basal cell carcinoma. Final clinical trial results identified the 200-microgram patch as the optimal dose for future studies. The company is preparing for the FDA-approved pivotal SkinJect 005 study whilst recruiting patients. An independent reimbursement analysis suggests SkinJect could achieve reimbursement levels of $25,000 or more per patient.

AbbVie beats Pfizer as top dividend stock with 53-year payout streak and 203% growth

AbbVie offers a smarter long-term dividend investment than Pfizer, despite Pfizer's higher 6.1% yield. AbbVie holds Dividend King status with 53 consecutive years of dividend increases and raised its payout by 5.5% this year to $1.73 per share. Over the past decade, AbbVie increased its dividend by more than 203% compared to Pfizer's 51%. AbbVie's revenue grew 138% during this period, whilst Pfizer's rose just 18%. AbbVie successfully navigated Humira's patent cliff through home-grown immunology drugs Skyrizi and Rinvoq. By 2025, these two drugs generated combined annual sales exceeding $25 billion, replacing Humira's peak revenue and pushing total company revenue to record highs. AbbVie's free-cash-flow dividend payout ratio stands at 65%, lower than Pfizer's 89%.

Pfizer's updated COVID vaccine ships as FDA approves narrower rollout for over-65s and high-risk groups

Pfizer received FDA approval for its updated Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, with deliveries to pharmacies and clinics beginning immediately. The company's shares were trading at $27.9079 on 28 August. However, the market opportunity has significantly narrowed from pandemic levels. Eligibility is now limited to adults aged 65 and older, plus higher-risk patients aged 5 through 64. Despite Comirnaty having distributed over five billion doses worldwide historically, today's revenue potential is considerably more constrained. Pfizer faces competition from Moderna and the Novavax-Sanofi protein vaccine for this smaller patient pool. The company's current share price sits 5.27% above its estimated value of $26.51, suggesting investors are paying a premium before actual uptake and commercial results become clear.

FDA approves Pfizer-BioNTech XFG-adapted COVID-19 vaccine for high-risk groups

Pfizer and BioNTech have received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for their 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine targeting the XFG variant. The vaccine is approved for adults aged 65 and older, and individuals aged 5 to 64 with underlying conditions that increase risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes. The FDA approval is based on clinical, non-clinical and real-world data demonstrating the vaccine generates strong immune responses against currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants, including XFG and other contemporary lineages. The XFG variant was selected following FDA guidance for fall 2026 vaccine composition. The vaccine will begin shipping immediately and will be available in US pharmacies, hospitals and clinics within days. To date, more than five billion doses of COMIRNATY have been distributed globally.
