Requirements
  • BS/BA in Business. Specialization in Human Resource Management, Finance, or related experience is preferred.
  • Three (3) years of cumulative experience as a Compensation Analyst or Specialist.
  • Ability to partner with business leadership and collaborate with multiple stakeholders within the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, customer service, and verbal/written communication.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle compensation-related issues with discretion.
  • Comfort making compensation adjustment recommendations based on market data analysis.
  • Ability to work with large datasets to extract meaningful insights.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, Vlookups, and Macros.
  • Ability to self-direct and exercise sound independent judgement within established guidelines.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document compensation processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Support Leaders and HR Business Partners with data analysis to foster our pay for performance culture through the annual salary and incentive cycle.
  • Maintain online job catalog, through the creation of new jobs and updates to existing jobs.
  • Implement market studies (gathering recommendations from leaders, creating communication materials, and processing employee changes).
  • Administer ongoing sales incentive and spot bonus payments.
  • Perform routine audits of employee and job compensation data to maintain data integrity, implement changes and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other human resources functions, such as benefits, payroll, talent acquisition, and talent development, to ensure alignment and integration of compensation programs and policies.
  • Monitor, research, and respond to Workday Help compensation inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Document compensation procedures with an emphasis on continuous process improvement.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze survey results/trends to benchmark and determine our competitive position and identify gaps or opportunities.
  • Manage salary structure creation and maintenance that support our compensation philosophy and strategy.
  • Conduct employee compensation analyses and recommend adjustments or actions that align with our company objectives for recruiting, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding compensation.
  • Prepare and present compensation reports and analyses to Compensation team and HR Partners.
  • Interview managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine Job Family, Job Level, and FLSA classification.
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Communicate pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations to HR Business Partners.
  • Advise managers on making effective pay decisions that support employee engagement and comply with compensation policy and budgetary guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain library of Job Family Summaries.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated compensation experience within a multi-faceted insurance and/or financial services company.
  • Workday or other HCM platform experience.
  • Strength in developing executive presentation materials and storytelling as part of communication and stakeholder management.
  • Professional certifications (PHR, CCP).
  • Demonstrated practice of leveraging various tools and resources to stay up to date on industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging best practices in compensation.
