Requirements
  • The role requires a minimum of 5+ years of project management experience, with emphasis on customer-facing work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily oversight, guidance, and support for a team of Project Managers.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings, team meetings, and performance check-ins to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Monitor workload distribution and adjust assignments to balance capacity and optimize team output.
  • Coach, mentor, and train Project Managers on processes, tools, onboarding best practices, and customer communication.
  • Handle team human resources responsibilities including performance management, corrective actions, development planning, and participation in hiring activities.
  • Ensure Project Managers maintain accurate project documentation, statuses, and customer communications.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team culture focused on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project plans for new customer onboardings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Oversee the team’s customer onboarding projects and intervene or escalate when issues arise.
  • Maintain frequent, proactive communication with customers throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
  • Lead customer meetings, including agendas and updates.
  • Ensure all projects go live on or ahead of schedule.
  • Escalate perceived delays or risks that may impact customer readiness.
  • Provide guidance to team members on complex projects requiring advanced project management judgment.
  • Act as the team’s subject matter expert on systems, onboarding workflows, and product configuration.
  • Support Project Managers in resolving complex customer questions or technical challenges.
  • Train and onboard new Project Managers to ensure role readiness.
  • Contribute to process improvements and departmental standardization.
  • Ensure team adherence to HireRight’s legal, contractual, and compliance frameworks.
  • Identify process gaps, recurring issues, and systemic improvements to enhance customer onboarding.
  • Collaborate with leadership to shape onboarding strategy, reporting, key performance indicators, and optimization initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional escalations and guide Project Managers through complex, high-visibility issues.
  • Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience mentoring, coaching, or leading project teams is strongly preferred.
  • Background check industry experience is highly preferred.
