Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of research protocols and assess and determine patient qualification for research studies.
  • Conduct patient screening and interviews under the direction of higher-level staff to evaluate eligibility for studies.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team by communicating and reporting pertinent information related to assigned systems.
  • Respond to customer complaints, inquiries, and requests for information, and coordinate appropriate follow-up calls or appointments.
  • Schedule research subject appointments for laboratory tests, x-rays, and other protocol-specific tests and studies.
  • Compile, process, document, and enter accurate patient information in source documents, case report forms, electronic data capture portals, and clinical trial management systems.
  • Maintain records for clinical studies and regulatory documents.
  • Capture and report adverse events and serious adverse events to the necessary regulatory authorities under the direction of the Research Nurse, Clinical Trial Manager, or Physician.
  • Assist management with research records and regulatory maintenance.
  • Evaluate and report inventory levels and maintain supplies necessary for the study.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the research process and conduct of Institutional Review Board-approved research protocols.
  • Follow International Conference on Harmonization and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
  • Complete and update the development plan on an ongoing basis.
