Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate, or 10 years of work experience.
  • Three years of technical experience in phlebotomy or another laboratory setting.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 0–25 pounds and occasionally handle objects weighing 25–50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements.
  • Ability to use vision and depth perception for near and far distances and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to use hearing and speech to share information through oral communication and hear alarms or malfunctioning machinery.
  • Frequent keyboard use and data entry.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and grip.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day workflow by preparing staffing schedules and prioritizing work.
  • Supervise operations by ensuring staff compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Train laboratory support staff.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
  • Perform duties as a phlebotomist or in another support function when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
