Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, including two years at the Assistant Engineer II level; or a master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience at the Assistant Engineer II level.
  • Relevant experience assisting in capital project management and supporting multidisciplinary project teams, including preparing technical reports and formal correspondence and contributing to facility upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitations.
  • A valid California Class C driver's license or equivalent is required at the time of application and must allow driving during employment.
  • Applicants must have U.S. work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Assist project teams with day-to-day management of capital infrastructure project activities from planning and scoping studies through final completion.
  • Obtain project funding and authorizations through the Board letter and Board process.
  • Monitor and control project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets to support successful project delivery.
  • Partner with Conveyance & Distribution, Integrated Operations Support Services, Safety, Security & Protection, Treatment & Water Quality, Information Technology, and Water Resources Management teams to align project goals and operational needs.
  • Identify and coordinate environmental assessments, review environmental reports, and maintain environmental documentation.
  • Use Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office applications, and the Capital Improvement Projects system to track, update, and report project metrics.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for on-site Conveyance & Distribution staff and perform liaison functions between Engineering Services and the Conveyance & Distribution Group's Desert Region.
