Requirements
- BA / BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a research or analyst role
- 3+ years of experience in the trading or mining industry
- Working knowledge of the nickel, cobalt, lithium markets
- Demonstrated ability to identify process issues and drive improvements; good knowledge and experience with SAP or other ERPS systems
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized and demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, develop effective plans, coordinate change management, and see projects through to conclusion
- Master's degree/MBA
- 5+ years of minding or trading industry experience with a focus on research
- Strong knowledge of global battery minerals industry
- Experience in building high performing strategic purchasing organizations and developing talent into leadership positions
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a suite of industry analysis tools including supply & demand models, cost curves, pricing results and forecasts across all battery materials
- Read and synthesis market reports and present to the team
- Record and report on supplier production, pricing, and expansion strategies
- Maintain battery materials demand forecasts for Rivian
- Work with battery cell suppliers and battery materials suppliers to ensure timely, conforming supply
- Support contract and sales administration
