Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of professional engineering experience is required.
  • Combined-cycle energy generation experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated potential for team leadership and the ability to effectively assess team challenges are required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • The ability to stay organized, remain driven, work under pressure, and meet deadlines is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support management of the technical aspects of assigned projects during contract execution.
  • Assist with technical coordination among Project Team members.
  • Review and check technical scope packages.
  • Work with the Project Engineer, Project Team members, and other departments to achieve project objectives.
  • Interpret specification requirements and ensure they are met during project execution.
  • Apply Vogt Power International design standards and procedures during project execution.
  • Assist with the disposition of requests for information, supplier deviation reports, and nonconformance reports submitted to the Deviation Management System by fabricators, site technical advisors, or commissioning engineers.
  • Track project changes until they are fully implemented.
  • Support project close-out for projects in construction or commissioning.
  • Serve as the lead technical customer contact for assigned close-out projects.
  • Attend customer technical meetings and assist the Project Engineer with resolving customer concerns.
  • Manage the Document Control Automation Program queue for assigned projects.
  • Process incoming vendor and customer documents for review by the appropriate team members.
  • Process outgoing document submittals to vendors or customers and communicate necessary changes promptly.
  • Review returned document comments and work with the team to track and resolve them.
  • Develop and coordinate project operation and maintenance manuals as required.
  • Participate in and maintain meeting minutes for specification reviews, design reviews, support-personnel meetings, and customer meetings.
  • Monitor procurement progress for technical scope packages and complete required TER tracker fields when requested by the Project Engineer.
  • Work with other Project Engineers to improve departmental cost, quality, or efficiency by revising procedures, work instructions, or templates.
  • Review, queue, and approve electronic bills of material as requested by the Project Engineer.
  • Coordinate bill-of-material updates with the Supply Manager and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain engineering schedules for assigned projects by coordinating tasks with Discipline Managers and project personnel when the Project Engineer is absent.
  • Support project man-hour forecasting.
  • Attend engineering meetings and provide engineering resource requirements when the Project Engineer is absent.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Combined-cycle energy generation experience is preferred.
