Geotab cares about your safety. You may be required to be vaccinated based on the nature of your work (ex: travel requirements) or due to changing local governmental health requirements.
Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking an Enterprise Software Developer who will develop and implement solutions which coordinate applications across the enterprise. The Enterprise Software Developer will also evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements, and ensure that the final solutions meet organizational needs.
If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!
What you’ll do:
As an Enterprise Software Developer your key area of responsibility will be to develop and build high-performing, high-demand, scalable, enterprise applications. You will work side by side with System Architects, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts and Business Stakeholders, making decisions together in order to quickly deliver valuable working software solutions to the business. We are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we’re doing wrong, so we can fix it, and identify what we’re doing right, so we can improve on it. We judge success by the success of our team and the happiness of our customers. The development of software for enterprises transforms the functioning of the organization, because once the solutions or tools are obtained, they originate new methodologies and processes. In addition to setting the tone and offering solutions, Enterprise Software Development aims to improve efficiency, productivity, and business functionality.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop and implement solutions which coordinate applications across the enterprise or its units and departments.
- Design and develop software to automate tasks that will reduce manual work and increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Designing, developing and delivering high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems.
- Evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and ensure that the final solutions meet organizational needs.
- Coding and unit tests for APIs and related resources.
- Document detailed automation processes or API design for both new and current products/projects.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and the technical testing repository.
- Interface with management and other technical departments.
- Publish reports documenting the design details of new projects and qualification test results.
- Participate in deployment activities in integration and sandbox environments.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience as a Software Developer using object-oriented programming to build scalable applications.
- Proficient experience in developing middleware applications that integrate multiple systems.
- Experience in developing backend rest API’s using Node.js.
- Experience in working with Swagger/Yaml REST API interface design & API specification.
- Experience with Python, Google Compute Engine, and Google BigQuery.
- Experience with SQL Server and Postgres database design, optimization, and writing queries.
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, ES6, jQuery) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js, Vue.js) and experience with UI/UX design.
- Proficiency in Git (or some other distributed source control tool) and are comfortable with resolving merge conflicts and renaming branches, etc.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
If you got this far, we hope you’re feeling excited about this role! Even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
