Location: San Francisco Bay Area (hybrid)

Salary Range: $225-250k base + stock options

What you will be responsible for

The Director of Product, Product Recognition will be responsible for ensuring that Focal stays at the cutting edge of product identification and verification at a mass market scale. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our end to end product recognition pipeline, from reference data collection to production model deployment. You will be responsible for architecting products to support the vast flow of data that transforms images from our cameras into insightful metrics for our clients. Reporting to the VP of Product, you will work very closely with our Product, Engineering and Deep Learning teams.

What you will do

• Guide the Product Recognition product roadmap and prioritization 
• Oversee and guide software development of our Product Recognition products
• Ensure features and bugs are reported and prioritized
• Keep JIRA and product charters up to date and maintained
• Run scrums and check-ins
• Plan, monitor and analyze key metrics for the performance of our models and infrastructure
• Proactively seeking a firsthand understanding of issues and areas for improvement for our Product Recognition products
• Act as a strategic partner to the VP of Product and Focal executives; initiate and lead data-driven analyses to help prioritize opportunities and provide actionable recommendations for initiatives, products and improvements

What you need to be successful

• 8+ years professional experience, preferably 3+ years in a product management role managing a computer vision or deep learning product
• Technical degree (e.g. EE, CS, Math, Stats) strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of software development processes
• Strong knowledge of deep learning and computer vision
• Knowledge of SQL and data science
• Knowledge of Python strongly preferred 
• Knowledge of data annotation processes a plus
• Proven ability to plan and manage a long-term product roadmap
• Demonstrated skill to devise and implement product processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
• Recent startup experience; uphold our values & mission; team player
• Ability to work a few days per week in the San Francisco office
