Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Architecture from a five-year program or a Master of Architecture from a six-year program, earned from a National Architectural Accrediting Board-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of twelve years of job-related experience.
  • Registered Architect licensure with National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certification.
  • Advanced understanding of Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Photoshop, and related software programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and architectural design of complex federal projects, independently managing sophisticated design challenges.
  • Review, coordinate, and refine work produced by project team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance with federal design standards and agency guidelines, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare and oversee detailed construction documents that meet federal requirements, emphasizing constructability, security, and long-term performance.
  • Apply expert knowledge of federal, state, and local architectural codes, standards, regulations, and agency-specific criteria to resolve design issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders throughout all phases of federal project delivery.
  • Conduct final Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews to verify that deliverables meet quality, accuracy, and federal client requirements before submission.
  • Support project managers and technical leadership with proposal development, scope definition, and labor-hour estimating aligned with federal procurement processes.
  • Serve as a primary client liaison with federal agencies and project teams to define, communicate, and refine project scope and translate client objectives into design solutions.
  • Mentor and guide architectural staff to support professional development, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
