Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A favorable result on the required state background check.
  • Proof of identity and the right to work in the United States.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact and deliver the Total Patient Experience.
  • Provide customer service during patient encounters in person and by phone.
  • Greet patients promptly and thank them when they leave.
  • Answer external and internal phones with prompt, courteous service.
  • Double-check insurance authorizations and create accurate flow sheets.
  • Check out patients and collect correct payments according to procedures.
  • Manage patient flow and communication in the office to maximize efficiency and customer service.
  • Complete daily reconciliations, close the day, and count down the cash drawer.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
  • Perform general office duties and cleaning assigned by the manager.
  • Work primarily in an office or clinical setting and travel to other locations when required.
  • Perform the physical activities required for the role, including walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 25 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous medical office experience.
  • Previous optometry or ophthalmology experience.
